Revaluation and Solutions for CBSE OSM Issue: Pradhan

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding the CBSE Online Scrutiny Module (OSM), stating that revaluation will commence and that the government is actively seeking solutions to the issues that have arisen.

Details of the CBSE OSM Issue

Speaking to reporters, Pradhan highlighted the scale of the problem. 'A lot of issues have come to light. Nearly 17 lakh students took the exam, which led to around 98 lakh answer-sheets to be evaluated. As each sheet had 40-odd pages, we had to scan over 40 crore pages,' he explained. The minister emphasized the enormity of the task and assured that measures are being taken to address the concerns raised by students and parents.

Revaluation Process

Pradhan confirmed that revaluation would begin soon, with a focus on ensuring accuracy and fairness. 'We are looking at solutions to streamline the process and prevent such issues in the future,' he added. The announcement comes after widespread criticism over delays and errors in the evaluation process, which affected thousands of students awaiting results.

Government's Response

The Ministry of Education has formed a committee to investigate the technical glitches and administrative lapses. Pradhan stated that the government is committed to resolving the matter promptly. 'Our priority is the welfare of students, and we will leave no stone unturned to ensure their concerns are addressed,' he said.

This development follows a series of complaints from students who reported discrepancies in their marks and delays in accessing answer sheets. The CBSE has been urged to adopt a more transparent and efficient system for future examinations.
