Noida to Host Major AI and High-Performance Computing Hub

A significant development is underway in Noida, as a 289-acre high-performance computing and artificial intelligence hub is planned along the Yamuna Expressway. This ambitious project, valued at Rs 2.2 lakh crore, will be situated across two sectors: 114 acres in Sector 28 and 175 acres in Sector 8D. Operations are expected to commence by 2028, with the facility reaching full capacity by 2030.

Project Details and Strategic Importance

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has issued a Letter of Intent to the Hyderabad-based AM Group (AMG), which is backed by the founders of the Greenko Group. This move aligns with the state government's announcement in Davos to develop one of India's largest AI hubs, positioning the project as a key step toward enhancing the country's technological infrastructure.

The proposed hub is designed as a large-scale facility capable of hosting approximately five lakh advanced high-performance chipsets. It will support AI workloads, extensive data processing, and cloud-based services, catering to global hyperscalers, research institutions, enterprises, and India's sovereign AI initiatives.

Economic and Environmental Impact

This project is anticipated to generate thousands of high-skilled jobs and attract substantial foreign investment to the region. Beyond direct employment, it is likely to spur demand in related sectors such as hardware manufacturing, semiconductor services, software development, and specialized cooling technologies essential for large data center operations.

A notable feature of the hub is its commitment to sustainability. The data center will operate on 24×7 carbon-free energy, sourced from renewable systems including solar, wind, and pumped storage hydropower. AMG has emphasized that the computing infrastructure will fully align with its carbon-neutral strategy and energy transition platform.

Innovative Initiatives and Future Prospects

Under its AMG AI Labs initiative, the group is working on building an integrated value chain that connects clean energy supply to AI computing capacity. This platform aims to facilitate the development of AI tokens, which can deliver sector-specific solutions across various industries such as energy, healthcare, manufacturing, automotive, media, gaming, and cloud services.

AMG is promoted by the founders of the Greenko Group, a major player in renewable energy infrastructure operating in over 20 states across India. This backing underscores the project's focus on combining technological advancement with environmental responsibility.
