Ultrahuman has opened pre-orders for Photon, a dual-wavelength red light therapy device that integrates with the Ultrahuman Ring to deliver personalized daily protocols. The device starts at $249.
Unlike most red light therapy devices that treat every session identically, Photon adapts to the user. When paired with the Ring PRO or Ring AIR, it retrieves recovery score and sleep data to recommend which area to target each day—muscles, skin, or a wind-down routine—along with session length and the optimal time of day for use.
The device operates two wavelengths simultaneously: 660nm red light, studied for skin appearance and collagen benefits, and 850nm near-infrared, which penetrates deeper and is more commonly associated with muscle recovery. All 12 LEDs emit both wavelengths. Photon weighs approximately 600g, charges via USB-C, and delivers six sessions per charge before requiring a recharge. A 10-minute auto-shutoff feature ensures safety without constant monitoring.
Red light therapy is backed by over 50 years of research, and Photon is designed to make that science a daily habit. The accompanying app employs a goal-led protocol system—Recovery, Skin, Sleep, or General Wellness—rotating focus areas throughout the week. Each session includes a brief educational explainer, helping users understand the purpose behind their routine—a thoughtful addition often missing from wellness hardware.
At $249, Photon undercuts premium red light therapy devices that typically range from $549 to $1,000. Ultrahuman CEO Mohit Kumar stated that the missing element in red light therapy has always been personalization, not the science. Photon aims to bridge that gap by combining Ring biomarker data with an established therapy category.
