San Francisco Police Arrest Suspect in Molotov Cocktail Attack on OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's Home

San Francisco police have made a significant arrest in connection with a violent attack targeting OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's residence last week. The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Daniel Moreno-Gama, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder—one related to Sam Altman and the other involving a security guard at the billionaire's home, according to a detailed report from Forbes.

Charges and Investigation Details

In an official statement, the San Francisco Police Department confirmed that officers developed probable cause to arrest Moreno-Gama. "Charges are still pending at this time," the department noted, while emphasizing that this remains an open and active investigation despite the arrest.

The incident occurred at Altman's home in San Francisco's Russian Hill neighborhood, which was attacked twice within less than 48 hours. Police have also arrested two other suspects in the case, who are accused of driving through the area and firing shots.

Daniel Moreno-Gama faces multiple serious charges, including:

  • Possession of an unregistered firearm
  • Damage and destruction of property by means of explosives
  • Attempted arson
  • Attempted murder

According to the Forbes report, Moreno-Gama is accused of throwing an "incendiary destructive device" at Altman's San Francisco home, causing a fire to an exterior gate.

"Anti-AI" Document Found on Suspect

A Bloomberg report reveals that Daniel Moreno-Gama was carrying an "Anti-AI" document at the time of his arrest that included a list of AI CEOs. Court documents indicate the document contained a section titled "Some more words on the matter of our impending extinction" discussing AI's potential threat to humanity.

Moreno-Gama appears to be the author of this three-part series. In a section called "Your Last Warning," he wrote: "If I am going to advocate for others to kill and commit crimes, then I must lead by example and show that I am fully sincere in my message."

Another document styled as a letter addressed to Altman stated: "If by some miracle you live, then I would take this as a sign from the divine to redeem yourself."
