Udupi: In a significant crackdown on drug-related activities, police on Tuesday arrested a man from Doddanagudde under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act. The accused, identified as Abdul Rauf, 26, is a resident of the Udupi Town police station limits.
The detention order was issued on Monday by the Inspector General of Police, Western Range, Mangaluru, based on a detailed report submitted by the Superintendent of Police, Udupi district. This action underscores the authorities' commitment to curbing the illicit drug trade in the region.
According to police records, multiple cases have been registered against Abdul Rauf at various police stations. Specifically, three cases related to drug trafficking and sale have been filed at the Manipal police station, Udupi Town police station, and Soladevanahalli police station—one case at each station.
