A tragic incident unfolded in Indore's Nandanvan Colony on Sunday afternoon, where a four-year-old girl died from suffocation after being accidentally left inside a locked car for nearly three hours. The child was the daughter of iron trader Hasan Noor.
Details of the Incident
According to family acquaintances, the girl had gone to a workshop with her grandparents and two other children. Around noon, when they returned home, all passengers disembarked from the vehicle, failing to notice that the minor had fallen asleep in the back seat. Family members stated that the child had a habit of falling asleep easily during travel.
At approximately 3 pm, the family realized the girl was missing and began a search. They found her unresponsive inside the locked vehicle. She was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
Police Investigation
Juni Indore police station in-charge Anil Gupta confirmed that the department received information from the hospital regarding the incident. A case was registered, and the body was sent for a postmortem examination on Monday. Preliminary assessments suggest that extreme summer temperatures caused a rapid buildup of heat and depletion of oxygen inside the sealed vehicle, leading to fatal suffocation.
Gupta added that a formal statement from the grieving family members has not yet been recorded. Further legal action will be determined based on the findings of the postmortem report.
