Kalupur overbridge closed at night for bullet train work

Ahmedabad: The Kalupur overbridge will remain closed during midnight hours for four nights starting Friday as segment erection work continues for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project.

Closure Details

Officials said the bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic from Friday to Monday only at night between midnight and 6am. The police commissioner, in an official notification, has advised commuters to take alternate routes during this period.

Safety Measures

The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited said that barricading, proper lighting, traffic signage and route diversion boards will be installed during the closure period to ensure safety and convenience for commuters. Traffic marshals will also be stationed at important junctions during both day and night to manage movement and assist the public.

Diversion Plan

According to the diversion plan, traffic coming from Naroda Road and Saraspur towards Kalupur Circle will be diverted via Saraspur Circle, Nutan Mill Road, Vorana Roza Crossroads, Dr Ambedkar Flyover (Chamunda Bridge), Asarwa Civil Hospital Road, Rachana School Road, Girdharnagar Crossroads, Babu Jagjivanram Bridge, Idgah Road and then Kalupur Circle. Vehicles moving from Rakhial-Gomtipur towards Kalupur will be rerouted via Saraspur Circle, Gurudwara Road, Chartoda Kabristan Road, Rakhial Crossroads, Apparel Park Metro Station, Anupam Cinema Road, Anupam Bridge, Kankaria Road, and Sarangpur Circle.
