Madurai North MLA Anban Kallanai on Wednesday launched ‘Visil 191’, a mobile application designed to serve as a single platform for residents to register public grievances related to multiple government departments in his constituency, which is designated as constituency number 191 for the 2026 election.
App Launch and Features
Launching the application at his newly opened MLA office, Kallanai stated that complaints concerning various government departments—including local body administration, revenue, electricity, and drinking water supply—could be submitted through the platform. These complaints would be forwarded directly to the concerned officials for action.
“This application has been created to ensure that people do not have to run from one office to another to get their grievances addressed,” Kallanai told reporters.
Registration and Assistance
The MLA explained that residents wishing to register complaints through the platform could create accounts using their voter identity card details. For residents unfamiliar with using mobile applications or online grievance systems, a separate helpdesk has been established at the MLA office to assist them in filing complaints and tracking updates.
Monitoring and Follow-Up
Party volunteers will monitor all complaints, whether filed manually or through the app, and track the status of action taken by government departments after grievances are submitted. “They will ensure proper follow-up and action from the concerned department,” he said.
Addressing Tasmac Complaints
Referring to complaints about Tasmac outlets, Kallanai noted, “People from wards 12, 18, and 20 are bringing complaints about Tasmac outlets functioning near residential areas, public drinking, crowding near shops, and nuisance during night hours. We will take them up with the concerned authorities based on the nature of the issue.”
