Hyundai Exter Facelift Spotted in South Korea, Launch Timeline Emerges
Fresh spy shots of the upcoming Hyundai Exter facelift have emerged online, this time captured in Hyundai's home market of South Korea. The micro SUV has been undergoing rigorous testing for some time, and it was also recently spotted on Indian roads last month, indicating that its official launch may be approaching sooner rather than later.
Design and Features of the Updated Exter
The latest test mule appears to be a lower-spec variant, equipped with 14-inch steel wheels. Despite being heavily camouflaged, several key design elements are visible. The front fascia seems to feature a revised grille and a reworked bumper, while the split headlamp setup has been retained, along with the distinctive H-shaped LED daytime running lights. At the rear, the facelifted model is expected to receive a redesigned tailgate, refreshed tail-lamps, and a new bumper. Notably, the test vehicle spotted overseas does not appear to have roof rails.
Inside the cabin, the layout is likely to remain largely similar to the current model. However, Hyundai could introduce a larger touchscreen infotainment system, along with the addition of a few convenience features to enhance the overall driving experience.
Powertrain and Launch Details
Under the hood, the Exter facelift is expected to continue with the same 1.2-litre petrol engine, paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT. A factory-fitted CNG option is also anticipated to be retained, catering to eco-conscious buyers.
Reports suggest that Hyundai may launch the updated Exter in the first half of 2026. This timing is particularly significant, especially following the recent arrival of the facelifted Tata Punch, which is one of its key rivals in the competitive micro SUV segment.
As the automotive industry continues to evolve, the Hyundai Exter facelift aims to strengthen its position in the market with refreshed aesthetics and potential feature upgrades. Enthusiasts and potential buyers are advised to stay tuned for further updates as more details become available in the coming months.
