Asus has refreshed its popular Vivobook 14 and Vivobook 15 laptops, now powered by Intel Core Series 3 processors. The new models integrate artificial intelligence capabilities to boost productivity and user experience. The update marks a significant step in bringing AI to mainstream laptops, offering features like intelligent noise cancellation, adaptive brightness, and battery optimization.
Key Specifications and Performance
The Vivobook 14 and Vivobook 15 feature Intel Core Series 3 chips, built on the Intel 7 process. These processors deliver up to 15% better performance compared to previous-generation Core i3 models, according to Intel. The laptops support up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM and 512GB of PCIe 3.0 SSD storage. The 14-inch model offers a FHD (1920x1080) IPS display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, while the 15-inch variant provides a similar resolution with optional OLED panel for richer colors.
Asus has equipped both models with AI-powered features such as AI Noise Cancelation for clearer audio during video calls and AI Adaptive Dimming that adjusts screen brightness based on ambient light and user presence. The Vivobook 14 and 15 also include AI Battery Health Charging, which prolongs battery lifespan by optimizing charging cycles.
Design and Connectivity
The laptops retain the slim and lightweight design of the Vivobook series. The Vivobook 14 weighs 1.4 kg and is 17.9 mm thin, while the Vivobook 15 weighs 1.7 kg with a thickness of 19.9 mm. Both models feature a full-size keyboard with a numeric keypad and a large touchpad. Connectivity options include two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, HDMI 1.4, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a microSD card reader. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 ensure fast wireless connections.
Asus has also integrated its proprietary IceCool thermal technology with dual heat pipes and a fan to keep the system cool under load. The laptops come with a 42Wh battery that provides up to 8 hours of video playback, as per company claims.
Pricing and Availability
The Asus Vivobook 14 (X1405) starts at INR 42,990, while the Vivobook 15 (X1505) starts at INR 45,990. Both models are available in India via Amazon, Flipkart, and the Asus e-shop. Color options include Indie Black, Transparent Silver, and Dreamy White. Asus offers a 1-year international warranty with the option to extend to 2 years.
According to Asus India Head of Consumer PCs, Arnold Su, "The new Vivobook 14 and 15 are designed to empower users with AI-driven efficiency without compromising on style or affordability." The laptops target students, professionals, and home users seeking a balance of performance and value.
Impact and Market Position
The integration of Intel Core Series 3 chips with AI features positions the Vivobook lineup competitively against rivals like the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 and Dell Inspiron 15. Asus aims to capture a larger share of the entry-level to mid-range laptop market, which is expected to grow by 12% in 2025, according to IDC. The AI capabilities differentiate these models in a crowded segment, offering practical benefits for everyday tasks such as video conferencing and content consumption.
