Building on the momentum of its popular Batman Edition, Mahindra & Mahindra has now shifted gears to the racing circuit with the launch of the BE 6 Formula e Edition. This new special edition electric SUV was unveiled alongside the company's latest Formula e race car, the M12 Electro, marking a strategic link between its road-going and racing electric ambitions.
Pricing, Variants, and Availability
The Mahindra BE 6 Formula e Edition has been launched at a starting price of ₹23.69 lakh (ex-showroom). Unlike the limited-run Batman Edition, this model is not restricted to a specific number of units, making it more accessible to enthusiasts.
It will be offered in two variants: FE 2 and FE 3. The FE 2 is priced at ₹23.69 lakh, while the FE 3 variant costs ₹24.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The higher FE 3 trim adds premium features like an adaptive suspension, larger 20-inch alloy wheels, and distinctive night trail carpet lamps.
Prospective buyers can mark their calendars: bookings open on January 14, and the first deliveries are scheduled to commence from February 14.
Powertrain and Performance Specifications
Under the hood, the Formula e Edition is equipped exclusively with a high-capacity 79 kWh battery pack. This powers a rear-wheel-drive electric motor that delivers an impressive 281 bhp of peak power and 380 Nm of torque.
Mahindra claims a substantial range of up to 682 km on a single charge, addressing a key concern for EV buyers. For quick top-ups, the SUV supports fast charging up to 175 kW. Using a compatible DC fast charger, the battery can be replenished from 10% to 80% in under 20 minutes.
Design and Cabin Highlights
The exterior receives a full motorsport-inspired makeover. Buyers can choose from four distinct paint schemes. Key visual upgrades include new circular LED projector headlamps, motorsport-themed decals on the bonnet and sides, and a prominent rear lip spoiler for better aerodynamics.
Orange accents on the tow hook and running board inserts, along with red brake calipers and a dedicated Formula e Edition badge, complete the race-ready look.
Inside the cabin, the theme continues. The interior features a transparent door panel with faux carbon fibre inserts, a Formula e logo on the dashboard, and the same motif embroidered on the seat backs. Orange highlights on the steering wheel, centre console buttons, and door handles add a sporty flair, complemented by a unique unit production badge.
This launch strengthens Mahindra's position in the premium electric vehicle segment, leveraging its involvement in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship to create a desirable, performance-linked product for the Indian market.
