Popular Twitch streamer Asmongold has ignited a fierce online debate by strongly criticising the platform's latest and most expensive feature. The new option allows a viewer to gift a massive one thousand subscriptions at once for a staggering price of $4,990.
A Stance Against Financial Irresponsibility
During his live stream on November 27, 2025, Asmongold made his position on the feature abundantly clear. He did not hold back, expressing severe disapproval not only of the exorbitant cost but also the negative implications of such large, impulsive donations. The streamer has consistently advocated for financial prudence, often advising his fans to spend their money wisely. His frustration was palpable when fellow streamer Emiru became a beneficiary of this new system.
Reacting to a clip of Emiru receiving the 1,000 subs, Asmongold's disdain was visible. He did not mince his words, stating sharply, "I saw this. 'Emiru gets 1,000 subs.' I hate women. I f**king hate this s**t. It's going to get refunded. Yeah.." This moment highlighted his complete lack of respect for the situation.
The Permanent Ban Warning
Asmongold then issued a stern warning to his own community. He declared that anyone gifting him a thousand subscriptions would face a permanent ban from his channel. "If you do that to me, you're getting permanently banned. I'm going to say it right now - anybody gifting me a thousand subs, you're getting permanently f**king banned!" he exclaimed during the broadcast.
He further outlined an extreme condition for any potential ban appeal. The only way a banned user could plead their case would be by submitting their tax form, specifically the 1040, to prove they have a seven-figure income. "Unless I know that you are a Saudi Arabian prince… the only way that your ban appeal can come in is if you send me your 1040… And if it's not seven figures, you're staying banned!" Asmongold stated, emphasising his seriousness about the matter.
Threatening a Platform Switch
The controversy did not stop there. When questioned about what he would do if Twitch itself gifted him the thousand subscriptions, Asmongold had a ready answer. He instantly concluded that he would leave the platform, stating, "What if Twitch gifts you a thousand subs? We're going to Rumble. We're already on Kick."
This incident is not an isolated one for the OTK co-founder, who recently also made blunt comments about streamer Pokimane's viral self-proposal video, calling it "sad". Asmongold appears to be drawing a hard line against what he perceives as calculated and problematic trends within the streaming world, firmly standing by his principles even if it means criticising peers and the platform that hosts him.
