Pradyumna Chaturthi 2026: Significance

Sankashti Chaturthi holds immense religious and spiritual significance among Hindus. According to Hindu scriptures, Chaturthi is the most beloved tithi of Lord Ganesha, making it especially important. Devotees offer sincere prayers to Lord Ganesha on this day. It is believed that those who observe this fast with devotion have all obstacles and negativity removed from their lives, naturally attracting good fortune and happiness. The fast is observed from dawn to dusk and is broken after sunset. In the month of Jyeshtha, Pradyumna Chaturthi is observed, and devotees worship the Pradyumna form of Lord Ganesha to seek wisdom and knowledge.

Pradyumna Chaturthi 2026: Puja Rituals

  1. Wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath.
  2. Clean the space where you plan to set up the altar.
  3. Place an idol of Lord Ganesha on a wooden plank covered with a yellow or red cotton cloth. Light a diya with desi ghee.
  4. Invoke the idol by chanting Ganesha mantras. Offer durva grass, flowers, incense sticks, and other sacred items.
  5. Offer boondi ladoo, modaks, five seasonal fruits, and dry fruits to Lord Ganesha.
  6. Chant the Ganesha Atharvashirsha to remove obstacles and seek his blessings.
  7. Complete the puja by reciting the Ganesha Aarti.
