BMW has officially unveiled the 2026 BMW M2, bringing significant upgrades to its compact sports coupe. The most notable addition is the new M xDrive all-wheel-drive system, which is being offered for the first time on the M2. This system is designed to enhance traction and agility, providing drivers with a more dynamic and controlled driving experience.
Powertrain and Performance
Under the hood, the 2026 BMW M2 is powered by a revised version of the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine. The output has been increased to 480 horsepower, up from the previous model's 453 hp. This boost in power is complemented by a peak torque of 406 pound-feet, ensuring rapid acceleration and responsive throttle. Pricing and Availability
The 2026 BMW M2 is expected to go on sale in early 2026, with pricing starting around $65,000 for the rear-wheel-drive model and $70,000 for the M xDrive version. Deliveries are slated to begin in the second quarter of 2026. BMW has confirmed that the M2 will be available globally, including in the United States and European markets.
