Groundbreaking Demonstration Using ABA First Runner Satellite
Utilizing its 80-kilogram earth-observation satellite, the ABA First Runner (AFR), Azista Space managed to photograph the International Space Station (ISS), which orbits approximately 400 kilometers above Earth's surface. The AFR satellite, launched into space via SpaceX's Falcon-9 rocket as part of the Transporter-8 mission on June 13, 2023, has now completed an impressive 2.5 years in orbit, showcasing its durability and advanced functionality.
In a detailed post on the social media platform X, Azista Space, which operates a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for satellites and payloads in Sanand, Gujarat, announced the successful execution of a highly challenging near-horizon demonstration targeting the ISS. The company elaborated that the AFR sensor was meticulously tasked to track the ISS under sunlit conditions at ranges of about 250 kilometers and 300 kilometers, capturing the space station in 15 distinct frames. Remarkably, two independent attempts were conducted, both achieving a flawless 100% success rate.
