Infrastructure Inaugurations at HPU

During his visit to HPU here, Sukhu inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening the university's academic and digital facilities. He inaugurated the multi-faculty building Phase-III, constructed at a cost of Rs 10.09 crore. The facility includes three academic floors, a computer-cum-computer based test (CBT) lab and a parking space, which will enhance teaching capacity and promote digital learning.

New Academic Block and CBT Lab

The CM also inaugurated the newly established CBT lab and laid the foundation stone for a new academic block to be built at a cost of Rs 8.25 crore. The five-storey building will provide additional classrooms and academic space to accommodate increasing student enrolment.

Financial Support and Green Hydrogen Focus

Reviewing various university projects, Sukhu said the state government provided an annual financial assistance of Rs 150 crore to HPU for its development. He emphasised that investments in infrastructure and digital transformation would help the institution achieve greater academic excellence. Referring to the state's first Green Hydrogen Project, coming up at Nalagarh in Solan district, Sukhu urged the university to contribute through research and innovation.

Benefits for Youth

He also noted that the new CBT lab would benefit around 250 youth by enabling them to take computer-based recruitment examinations in Shimla itself, eliminating the need to travel to other districts.
