Pepe Marti Brings Another Episode of the Professor Pepe Series
Pepe Marti shared a video of his workout routine on Instagram with the caption: “Professor Pepe. Ep. 17: a day at the gym with me! New episode every Tuesday.”
After introducing himself as Professor Pepe, Marti says in the video: “This workout is a little different. We change it throughout the week, but today I'm bringing you a workout that we've divided into four blocks: shoulders, back, legs and core.”
“Each part has its own specificity and importance for us in the car. For example, we started with shoulder strength, which helps us work on the shoulders, neck and this whole area. We also do dedicated transfer exercises specifically for motorsport. Why? Because it helps us have more stability in the neck and gives us the shoulder strength needed to manage all the lateral and longitudinal forces inside the car,” he adds.
Moving on to another exercise, he explains: “Then we worked on the legs, where we did the leg press. Today we used heavier weights first and then lighter weights to work on maximum power first and then muscular endurance. We also did dedicated transfer exercises, such as juggling while sitting on a fitball.”
“And we finished with the core, which is one of the most important parts of motorsport. Why? Because we need that stability so that we can perform well with our arms and shoulders. We need a solid foundation in the core so that the rest of the muscles can work efficiently inside the car,” he signs off.
Marti is now in China for the Sanya E-Prix. The Round 11 race is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 20 June.
