The Bar Council of India (BCI) has officially granted permission to Patna Law College to introduce two new law programs starting from the 2026-27 academic session. The approved courses include a three-year LLB (Honours) program and a five-year integrated BBA LLB (Honours) program.
Seat Allocation and Course Details
According to the communication sent to Patna University, the BCI has authorized the admission of 300 students in the three-year LLB (Honours) course. These students will be distributed across five sections, each comprising 60 students. For the five-year integrated BBA LLB (Honours) program, the college can admit 180 students, divided into three sections of 60 students each.
Inspection and Approval Process
Birendra Paswan, the media in-charge of the college, confirmed that the BCI conducted an inspection of the institution on April 1 of this year. The inspection team evaluated the college's infrastructure, faculty, and other essential facilities. After a thorough review, the BCI concluded that Patna Law College meets the necessary standards to offer these advanced law programs.
The approval marks a significant milestone for Patna Law College, enabling it to expand its academic offerings and cater to a larger number of aspiring legal professionals. The college is expected to begin the admission process for these courses in due course, with the first batch commencing in the 2026-27 academic year.
