A 22-year-old man was dragged into the Dev river by a crocodile near Kagdipara village on the outskirts of Vadodara on Thursday afternoon. The victim, identified as Mithun Vasava, had reportedly gone to the river around 1:30 pm to take a bath when the reptile attacked him.

Eyewitness Accounts

Eyewitnesses said the crocodile suddenly emerged from the water and dragged Vasava into the river. The incident occurred despite repeated warnings from authorities about the crocodile population in the area.

Search and Rescue Efforts

Police reported that fire brigade teams and villagers immediately launched a search operation in the area. However, Vasava had not been traced till late evening. The search is expected to continue.
