Crocodile found dead in Vadodara river

Vadodara: An eight-foot-long crocodile was discovered dead in the Vishwamitri River in the city on Sunday. The reptile was retrieved from the river and sent to the forest department for a postmortem on Monday.

Rescue and Treatment

Forest officials reported that the crocodile had been rescued from the Bil area approximately one week ago and was admitted to a veterinary hospital in the city for medical treatment. The reptile had sustained injuries to its genital region and received medical care before being released back into the Vishwamitri River four days ago.

Discovery and Preliminary Cause

However, the crocodile was later found floating in the river behind Vadodara Central Jail. Preliminary indications suggest that it may have died due to internal bleeding, according to officials.
