HC Justice Lauds Palok Basu Foundation's Role in Law, Culture

Prayagraj: Justice Siddharth Nandan of the Allahabad High Court stated on Sunday that the Palok Basu Foundation can play a significant role in promoting cultural and social activities. He also noted that the foundation could help encourage young aspirants in the legal profession by organizing seminars and other law-related events.

Foundation Launch Event

He was speaking at the launch of the Palok Basu Foundation, established to honor the life and legacy of the late Justice Palok Basu, a distinguished judge of the High Court. Rimi Basu Sinha, the eldest daughter of Justice Basu, welcomed the guests by citing Ganesh Vandana.

Grandsons Highlight Contributions

Kaushik Nag and Rudra Ashish Sinha, grandsons of Justice Basu, spoke about the legal, social, and cultural contributions of their grandfather. They said the foundation has been established to carry forward his legacy. They added that it will focus on legal empowerment initiatives, social outreach, capacity building, and setting future vision and goals, while also promoting Indian cultural heritage.

Among those present at the program were theatre artist Ashilash Narayan, Rashmi Basu Mahajan, advocate Saurabh Basu, along with several others. Senior advocate Gopal Swaroop Chaturvedi, former commissioner Badal Chatterjee, and manager of Anglo Bengali College Asim Mukherjee also attended the event.

Justice Basu, who passed away in 2019, also worked as a mediator in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute.
