Light Rain Likely Across Bengaluru for Five Days, Says IMD
Light Rain Likely Across Bengaluru for Five Days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light rain across Bengaluru for the next five days, attributing the weather to an active monsoon phase combined with upper-air circulation. The city is expected to receive scattered showers, providing relief from the summer heat.

Forecast Details

According to the IMD, the light thundershowers are likely to occur from June 20 to June 24, 2026. The department noted that the active monsoon conditions over the region, coupled with an upper-air circulation, are driving the rainfall. Residents can expect partly cloudy skies with intermittent light rain, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours.

The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 29-30 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may drop to 20-21 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels are expected to remain high, ranging between 60% and 80%.

Impact on Daily Life

The light rain is expected to bring respite from the hot and dry weather experienced in recent weeks. However, commuters may face minor disruptions due to waterlogging in low-lying areas. The IMD has advised residents to carry umbrellas and drive cautiously during thundershowers. No major weather-related alerts have been issued for Bengaluru or other parts of Karnataka.

Farmers in the surrounding districts may benefit from the rainfall, as it could aid in crop growth. The IMD continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates if the intensity of the rain increases.
