Lucknow: Sarojininagar MLA Rajeshwar Singh on Thursday felicitated 250 gardeners and distributed premium gardening kits and T-shirts at a programme held at his Aashiana residence. The event was organized with support from Shri Pitambara Baglamukhi Siddhapeeth Uttarakhand Trust, Environment Warriors, and Green Smile Society, with the aim of promoting grassroots participation in environmental conservation.
MLA Calls Gardeners 'Green Guardians'
Addressing the gathering, Singh described gardeners as green guardians and stressed that environmental protection requires sustained public effort. He emphasized that issues like depleting groundwater, indiscriminate tree felling, and shrinking water bodies demand collective action. He urged residents to adopt gardening and plant at least one sapling to contribute to a greener environment.
Financial Assistance to Bereaved Families
During the event, the MLA also extended financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh each to two bereaved families. The recipients were Kajal Rawat from Sahijanpur, who died in a road accident, and Mahak Yadav, wife of the late Anuj Kumar Yadav from Balsingh Khera. Officials stated that this assistance is part of Singh’s ongoing outreach initiative, under which 17 widowed and destitute families, including members from the legal fraternity, have received support.
The initiative underscores the MLA's commitment to both environmental sustainability and community welfare, encouraging citizens to actively participate in preserving nature while providing aid to those in need.
