A massive fire broke out at a decoration accessories godown and office in Besa on Sunday afternoon, causing extensive damage. The fire incident at Utkarsh Society on Pipla Road led to thick plumes of smoke engulfing the locality.
Fire Triggered During Welding Work
Preliminary reports suggest the blaze may have been triggered during welding work underway at the premises. The fire spread rapidly through the godown, which stored decorative materials, electrical wires, furniture, vehicles, catering-related accessories, and event equipment.
Firefighting Challenges
According to residents, the first fire tender reportedly ran out of water shortly after firefighting operations began, raising concerns. Additional fire tenders from the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) were later rushed from Narendra Nagar, Sakkardara, and Trimurti Nagar.
