A massive fire broke out at a residential society in Indirapuram, Delhi, on Thursday, gutting several flats and prompting a large-scale rescue operation. The fire, which started in the afternoon, quickly spread across multiple floors of the building, causing panic among residents.
Fire Breaks Out at Indirapuram Society
The incident occurred at the Antriksh Society in Indirapuram, a densely populated area in the national capital region. According to eyewitnesses, the fire originated from an electrical short circuit on the lower floors and rapidly engulfed the upper levels. Thick smoke billowed from the building as fire tenders rushed to the spot.
Rescue Operation Underway
Delhi Fire Services deployed over 15 fire tenders to douse the flames. Rescue teams, along with local police, evacuated residents from the affected building. No casualties have been reported so far, but several individuals were treated for smoke inhalation. The fire has been brought under control, but cooling operations continue.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and assessing the damage. The society management has been asked to ensure safety measures are in place to prevent such incidents in the future.
