Mysuru Hosts Organic Mango and Jackfruit Fair from May 29

The city of Mysuru is set to host a three-day organic mango and jackfruit fair at the Nexus Centre City Mall, commencing on May 29. The event is organized by the Department of Horticulture in collaboration with the Karnataka Mango Development Marketing Board.

Direct Marketing Opportunities for Farmers

Joint Director of Horticulture Manjunath Angadi informed reporters on Wednesday that the primary objective of the fair is to encourage farmers by providing them with direct marketing opportunities to sell their chemical-free and fresh produce. This initiative aims to eliminate intermediaries, allowing farmers to earn better prices for their organic fruits.

Benefits for Consumers

The festival offers a unique opportunity for the public to savor a wide variety of produce sourced from different regions of Karnataka. Customers can purchase organic, carbide-free fruits directly from farmers at competitive rates, ensuring they receive high-quality, healthy products.

Additionally, ripe jackfruit varieties such as Rudrakshi, Shivarathri, Ekadashi, and Tubagere will also be on offer. The fair will feature over 80 varieties of mangoes and 35 varieties of jackfruits, providing an extensive selection for visitors.

Culinary Delights and Attractions

Beyond fresh fruits, visitors can indulge in a range of mango- and jackfruit-based dishes at the venue. Stalls will offer culinary delights including mango ice cream, pickles, juices, jackfruit chips, and other products made from these fruits. These food stalls are expected to be a major attraction for attendees.

Organic Products and Demonstrations

In addition to fruits, the fair will showcase various organic products such as soaps, detergents, and pottery items. Farmers and growers will benefit from live demonstrations and expert guidance. The festival will also feature cultural events, seminars, and workshops to educate participants on organic farming practices and sustainable agriculture.

This event not only supports local farmers but also promotes healthy eating habits among the community. For more lifestyle updates, visit Times of India.
