NIT-Kurukshetra holds 'Sundays on Cycle' rally

The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kurukshetra, organized a cycle rally on Sunday as part of the nationwide 'Sundays on Cycle' campaign. The event was conducted under the aegis of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) and coordinated by the physical education and sports section. Its objective was to promote physical fitness, environmental sustainability, and social responsibility among the institute community.

Fit India Movement Initiative

A spokesperson from NIT-Kurukshetra stated that the campaign is a flagship initiative of the Fit India Movement, actively supported by the Sports Authority of India (SAI). The rally began at the Sports Complex and saw participation from faculty members, staff, students, and their families.

Key Dignitaries and Participation

Prof Sathans, RCI Coordinator of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, commended the institute's efforts in integrating fitness with social and environmental awareness. The rally was flagged off by Prof Lillie Dewan, Dean (Students' Welfare) at NIT-Kurukshetra, who encouraged participants to adopt cycling as a healthy and eco-friendly mode of transportation.
