Stray Dog Bites 25 in Bidar, 20 Children Among Victims

A stray dog bit 25 people, including 20 children, in the Mailuru area of Bidar city on Saturday, causing panic among residents. The incident occurred when the dog roamed the locality and attacked children playing near their homes.

Hospitalization and Treatment

Ten children were admitted as inpatients at the Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital, while the remaining victims, including adults, received outpatient treatment. The injuries were severe, with bites on thighs, backs, and faces.

Parents' Complaints

Parents expressed anger over the incident, claiming they had previously complained to their area councillor about the menace of stray dogs but received no response. Bandeppa, a parent, told the media that his daughter was severely bitten while playing with other children near their house. The dog reportedly attacked children at four different locations in the area.

The authorities have been urged to take immediate action to capture the dog and address the stray dog problem in the locality to prevent such incidents in the future.
