Varanasi: The Shivprasad Gupt Divisional Hospital in Kabirchaura is set to undergo a major transformation into a super multi-speciality healthcare complex. The existing 318-bed hospital will be demolished, and a new 500-bed multi-super-speciality hospital will be constructed at a cost of Rs 315 crore.
New Facility to Serve Purvanchal and Neighboring States
The new facility aims to provide quality and affordable healthcare services, including diagnosis, treatment, and emergency medical aid, all under one roof. This will help reduce patient load and make healthcare easily accessible to millions of patients from Purvanchal and neighboring states such as Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand.
Infrastructure and Design
Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Brijesh Kumar stated that the hospital building will consist of two towers. The main building will have ground plus eight floors along with two basements. The second building, which will be residential, will have ground plus 14 floors. The basement parking will accommodate 600 four-wheelers and two-wheelers. Innovative parking technology using vertical lifts will be employed, allowing multiple cars to be parked one above the other in limited space. This hydraulic or mechanical lift system can park two to three cars in the space of one.
Super Speciality Services
The hospital will offer a wide range of super speciality services, including cardiology with a cath lab, angiography, angioplasty, gastrology, urology, nephrology, plastic surgery, neurosurgery, neurology, oncology, and neonatology. Additional facilities will include manifold systems, liquid medical gas (LMO), effluent treatment plant (ETP), sewage treatment plant (STP), and 24-hour power backup. Diagnostic services such as ultrasound, digital X-ray, CT scan, MRI, mammography, and FNAC will be available. Special facilities will also include 2D Echo and MRI.
