The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has finalised the deployment of 670 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) for the upcoming 57-day Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir. This decision comes amid heightened security concerns in the region, as per official sources.
Security Deployment Finalised
According to officials, the deployment plan was drawn up in close consultation with the Jammu and Kashmir administration and top security agencies. The 670 CAPF companies will be strategically positioned along the pilgrimage routes and at key locations to ensure the safety of pilgrims.

The annual yatra, which attracts thousands of devotees from across the country, has been a focus of security planning due to past threats. The Home Ministry's decision underscores the government's commitment to providing a secure environment for the pilgrimage. Additional measures, including surveillance and quick response teams, are also being put in place.
This year's yatra is scheduled to last 57 days, and the security apparatus will remain on high alert throughout the period. The deployment of CAPF personnel is part of a comprehensive security strategy that involves multiple agencies working in tandem.
