The nine-day Agniveer recruitment rally at Chamundi Vihar stadium in Nazarbad, Mysuru, concluded on Monday with an inspiring display of determination as women aspirants participated in the final phase of physical tests.
A total of 192 female candidates, who successfully cleared the preliminary screening, took part in the physical examination for induction into the Women Military Police. The rally began on April 7 and witnessed enthusiastic participation from candidates across Karnataka and Kerala, with an overall turnout exceeding 6,000 aspirants.
The Women Military Police recruitment rally was flagged off by Lt Gen RS Sundaram, director general (recruitment). He, along with Maj Gen Bruce Fernandez, additional director general (recruitment), closely monitored the recruitment process. The senior officers also interacted with candidates, encouraging them to remain focused and strive for excellence.
Maj Gen Bruce Fernandez also addressed NCC cadets of the 3 Karnataka Girls Battalion at the venue, urging them to pursue their ambition with discipline and perseverance. Participants expressed confidence in clearing the Army's physical standards, emphasising that consistent practice and a focused approach are key to success. Their enthusiasm and resilience were evident throughout the rally.
Candidates who successfully clear the medical examination will be inducted as Agniveers in the Women Military Police of the Indian Army. DC Lakshmikanth Reddy and MCC commissioner Shaikh Tanveer Asif were present at the event.
