Ahmedabad experienced its hottest day of the season on Monday, with the mercury soaring to 43 degrees Celsius, the highest recorded across Gujarat. This marked an increase of 0.8 degrees from Sunday's reading of 42.2 degrees Celsius.
Temperature Details
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) bulletin, the maximum temperature was 1.1 degrees above normal. The city's minimum temperature settled at 28.4 degrees Celsius, which was 0.5 degrees above normal.
Tuesday Forecast
The IMD has forecast that the maximum temperature in Ahmedabad will hover around 43 degrees Celsius on Tuesday as well. The weather agency also indicated the possibility of a fresh Western Disturbance affecting northwest India from May 28.
Outlook for Gujarat
The forecast for maximum temperatures across Gujarat suggests no significant change over the next four days. Thereafter, a gradual drop of 2 to 3 degrees is likely across the region. However, the maximum temperature is expected to remain above 40 degrees Celsius over the next seven days.
The IMD also highlighted chances of hot and humid conditions over coastal parts of Saurashtra and Kutch during the next three days.
