Bengaluru Traffic Advisory: Key Roads Closed for Shivakumar Oath Ceremony
In view of the oath-taking ceremony of Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, the Bengaluru traffic police have issued a traffic advisory on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. Several major roads in the city will remain closed for a few hours to facilitate the smooth conduct of the event. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and use alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.
Roads Closed on June 3
The following roads will be closed from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM:
- Krishna Rajendra Road (KR Road) from Town Hall to Lalbagh Main Gate
- JC Road from Town Hall to KIMS Hospital
- Albert Victor Road from Town Hall to Lalbagh Road
- Lalbagh Main Road from Lalbagh Main Gate to Lalbagh West Gate
- Double Road from Lalbagh Main Gate to Shanthinagar Bus Stand
Alternate Routes for Commuters
To avoid traffic congestion, commuters can use the following alternate routes:
- For those traveling towards Lalbagh: Use Bannerghatta Road or Hosur Road via Madiwala.
- For those traveling towards Town Hall: Use K.R. Market or Avenue Road.
- For those traveling towards KIMS Hospital: Use Vani Vilas Road or Bull Temple Road.
Traffic Diversions and Restrictions
The traffic police have also announced diversions at key junctions. Vehicles will not be allowed to enter the closed roads from the following points:
- From Town Hall circle towards KR Road
- From Lalbagh Main Gate towards Double Road
- From KIMS Hospital junction towards JC Road
Parking restrictions have been imposed on all the closed roads. Vehicles parked on these roads will be towed away. Commuters are requested to cooperate with the traffic police and follow the instructions.
Public Transport Arrangements
The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has also announced changes in bus routes. Buses plying on the affected routes will be diverted via alternative roads. Commuters can check the BMTC website or app for real-time updates on bus diversions. The metro services will run as usual, and commuters are advised to use metro trains to avoid traffic delays.

The oath-taking ceremony of DK Shivakumar as Deputy Chief Minister will take place at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.
