DSMNRU Lucknow to Build New Girls Hostel and Academic Block

Lucknow: Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU) is gearing up for a significant expansion of its campus infrastructure, set to be completed by the 2026-27 academic session. The development includes the construction of a new girls hostel capable of accommodating approximately 400 students, which will provide much-needed relief for female students seeking on-campus housing. Currently, the campus has only one girls hostel, leading to accommodation challenges.

New Girls Hostel to Enhance Accessibility

University spokesperson Yashwant Virodai stated, “The new hostel will help more girls access accommodation on campus itself, reducing daily travel difficulties and creating a more supportive academic environment.” The initiative is expected to particularly benefit students with disabilities, for whom accessible residential facilities can make a significant difference in pursuing higher education comfortably and independently.

Infrastructure Development for Academic Growth

In addition to the hostel, a new academic block with 70 rooms will be constructed to strengthen the university’s classroom infrastructure. This block will provide more space for teaching, learning, and other academic activities, supporting the institution’s growing student population.

DSMNRU Vice-Chancellor Prof Sanjay Singh emphasized, “Our infrastructure development initiative reflects the university’s commitment to improving student facilities and expanding opportunities for quality education.” The expansion aligns with the university’s mission to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all students, especially those with special needs.

These developments are part of a broader effort to enhance the campus experience and ensure that students have access to modern amenities that facilitate their academic and personal growth. The university administration is optimistic that these projects will be completed on schedule, contributing to a more vibrant and accessible campus community.
