Jaishankar Welcomed in Ulaanbaatar for State Visit
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Mongolia on Monday, June 22, 2026, for a two-day state visit from June 22 to 23. Upon arrival at Ulaanbaatar, he was received by State Secretary Munktushig Ilkhanajav. In a post on X, Jaishankar expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and stated his anticipation for fruitful engagements to advance the India-Mongolia special partnership.
Official Schedule and Key Meetings
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Jaishankar will meet with Mongolian leadership and hold discussions with his counterpart, Foreign Minister B Battsetseg. The visit aims to deepen bilateral cooperation in various sectors. The EAM's itinerary includes a four-day trip covering Mongolia and the Republic of Korea from June 22 to 25.
Visit to South Korea and Jeju Forum
Following his Mongolia visit, Jaishankar will travel to South Korea on June 24 and 25. He will hold talks with ROK Foreign Minister Cho Hyun and deliver the keynote speech at the Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity in Jeju on June 25. The MEA confirmed that the visit underscores India's commitment to strengthening ties with both nations.
In his social media post, Jaishankar said, "Pleased to arrive in Mongolia today. Thank State Secretary Munktushig Ilkhanajav for the warm welcome. Look forward to fruitful engagements to advance our special partnership." The visit is expected to cover areas such as trade, investment, and regional security.
