EAM meets Trinidad and Tobago PM, hands over Indian laptops

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held a meeting with Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar in Port of Spain on Wednesday. During the meeting, Jaishankar handed over a consignment of made-in-India laptops to the Caribbean nation as part of India's ongoing development partnership.

Strengthening bilateral ties

The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in various sectors including education, technology, and capacity building. Jaishankar emphasized India's commitment to supporting Trinidad and Tobago's developmental goals through the supply of high-quality, affordable laptops manufactured in India. This initiative is expected to boost digital literacy and access to technology in the country.

India's development partnership model

India has been actively engaging with Caribbean nations under its development partnership framework, which includes grants, concessional loans, and technical assistance. The laptop handover is part of a broader effort to strengthen ties with the region, aligning with India's focus on the Global South and South-South cooperation.
