A significant fire incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in a three-storey building located at Purameri near Nadapuram, Kozhikode. The building housed an electric scooter showroom, a lighting trading company, and a furniture showroom.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as the staff and customers managed to evacuate the building promptly upon noticing the fire. At the time of the incident, all the outlets were operational.
The blaze caused extensive damage, with preliminary estimates placing the loss at around Rs 4 crore. As many as 18 scooters in the showroom were completely gutted in the fire.
Fire tenders from Nadapuram and Vadakara were dispatched to the scene and worked to control the flames, preventing the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings.
