The districts that are likely to receive heavy rainfall include: Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, and Kanyakumari. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea along the coast of Tamil Nadu.
