Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms Predicted in Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall at isolated locations over south coastal Andhra Pradesh (SCAP) and Rayalaseema for the next two days, bringing relief from the recent heatwave conditions. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also likely at isolated places across coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next three days.

Relief from Heatwave

After enduring several days of scorching heat, with temperatures crossing 40 degrees Celsius, parts of SCAP and Rayalaseema experienced moderate to heavy rainfall on Thursday night and Friday morning, providing much-needed respite. These conditions are expected to continue for the next few days, offering further relief from the oppressive heat.

However, Visakhapatnam city and parts of Vizianagaram, Anakapalle, Srikakulam, and Manyam districts continued to witness hot and humid weather on Friday, indicating that the relief is not uniform across the region.
