Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, accompanied by his family, visited the Dubare Elephant Camp in Karnataka's Kodagu district on Tuesday. The camp, situated on the banks of the River Cauvery, is a popular eco-tourism destination managed by the Karnataka Forest Department.
Family Outing at the Camp
Soren, along with his wife and children, spent time at the camp engaging in various activities. They enjoyed an elephant ride and also participated in feeding the elephants. The family appeared delighted as they interacted with the gentle giants under the supervision of trained mahouts.
Significance of the Visit
The visit comes amid a brief break for the Chief Minister, who has been busy with state affairs. Dubare Elephant Camp is known for its elephant training and conservation efforts, attracting tourists from across the country. Soren's visit highlights the camp's appeal as a family-friendly destination.
Officials at the camp briefed the Chief Minister about the camp's operations, including elephant care, training methods, and eco-tourism initiatives. Soren appreciated the efforts of the forest department in maintaining the camp and ensuring the well-being of the elephants.
The Jharkhand CM's visit to Karnataka has also sparked political speculation, though his office clarified that it was a private family trip. Soren is expected to return to Jharkhand later this week.
