In a significant display of devotion, the Huligemma Devi Temple in Huligi, Koppal district, has collected a substantial amount of offerings from its devotees over the past 35 days. The temple, which falls under the state department of religious endowments, reported a total of Rs 81.9 lakh in cash, along with 169 grams of gold and seven kilograms of silver.
Regular Pilgrim Footfall
The temple witnesses a heavy influx of devotees from across Karnataka and neighbouring states, especially on Tuesdays, Fridays, and full moon days. Additionally, a steady stream of visitors is recorded on a daily basis, contributing to the temple's offerings.
Counting Process
The last hundi counting was conducted on March 25, while the latest exercise was carried out on Wednesday. Officials confirmed that the counting was part of the routine process to account for the donations. The event was overseen by key personnel, including Huligemma Devi Temple Development Authority secretary U H Prakash Rao, deputy secretary Sanna Basavaraj, and other staff members.
This collection underscores the continued faith and generosity of the devotees towards the temple, which remains a significant religious site in the region.
