New Delhi: India's Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi has been inducted into the International Hall of Fame of the US Army War College in Pennsylvania. The Indian Army announced this development on Friday via a post on X, stating, "General Upendra Dwivedi, COAS, visited the Army War College (AWC), Carlisle Barracks, USA, where he was inducted into the International Hall of Fame — the third Indian Army Chief to receive this honour, after General VK Singh and General Bikram Singh."
Engagements at the US Army War College
During his visit to the United States, General Dwivedi addressed the faculty and international student officers on topics including leadership, professional military education, and evolving security dynamics. As an alumnus of the prestigious college, he toured key facilities and participated in academic engagements such as panel discussions. He also reviewed advanced study projects of the scholars program and interacted with distinguished members of the institution.
Strengthening India-US Defence Cooperation
In addition to his engagements at the War College, General Dwivedi held discussions with General Ronald P Clark, Commanding General of US Army Pacific, and other senior leaders. These talks focused on strengthening India-US defence cooperation and advancing a shared vision for peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. The Indian Army further noted, "COAS also undertook an aerial tour of Oahu island, gaining insights into the training ecosystem and multi-domain operational readiness."
High-Level Military Exchanges
The Army Chief's visit follows recent trips to the US by Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal A P Singh and Navy Chief Dinesh Tripathi, underscoring the continuity of high-level military-to-military exchanges between India and the United States. These interactions are part of ongoing efforts to deepen strategic ties and enhance mutual understanding of security challenges.
