Tamil Nadu man hosed, kicked by Malaysian security guard in viral video
Indian worker abused in Malaysia, video goes viral

A disturbing video showing a Tamil Nadu man being violently assaulted and humiliated while sleeping outside a bank in Malaysia has sparked widespread outrage across social media platforms. The incident highlights the vulnerable situation faced by many Indian workers abroad.

The Shocking Assault Caught on Camera

The viral footage captures the moment when a woman security guard turns a hose on Safiudeen Pakkeer Mohamed as he sits helplessly on the pavement outside an AmBank branch in Taman Maluri, Kuala Lumpur. The video then shows another man joining the assault, physically kicking Mohamed and shouting at him to move from the spot.

The 39-year-old Indian national from Tamil Nadu had been sleeping outside the bank for several days after finding himself stranded in Malaysia with no income, no documents, and nowhere else to go. The incident occurred in late November 2025 and quickly spread across social media platforms, drawing condemnation from viewers worldwide.

How Mohamed Became Stranded in Malaysia

Mohamed's tragic situation began when he left his home in Tamil Nadu in 2024, hoping to secure better employment opportunities to support his wife and two young sons back in India. He took up a position as a cook at a restaurant in Sri Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, in March of the same year.

Before beginning work, Mohamed paid his employer RM 3,500 for a work permit and an additional RM 1,200 for healthcare coverage. However, his employer repeatedly failed to pay his salaries, sometimes withholding wages for months at a time, leaving Mohamed unable to send money home to his struggling family.

When Mohamed attempted to resign from his position, his employer refused to release him and confiscated his passport, effectively trapping him in Malaysia. This forced Mohamed to stop working approximately six months before the incident, leaving him completely destitute and homeless.

Aftermath and Rescue Efforts

Following the viral spread of the assault video and the subsequent public outrage, social worker Tony Lian intervened to provide assistance. Lian, who operates shelters for homeless people in Malaysia, has offered Mohamed a safe place to stay while working to resolve his legal and immigration status.

According to reports from New Straits Times, Lian intends to pressure Mohamed's former employer to return his confiscated passport and hopes to raise funds to help clear the debts that initially forced Mohamed to seek work abroad. This support comes as a significant relief for Mohamed, who expressed deep distress about his vulnerable situation being witnessed by people around the world.

In an emotional statement to Free Malaysia Today, Mohamed revealed, "If they had only told me to leave, I would have gone quietly. I was very weak, hungry, stressed, and depressed." His words underscore the human tragedy behind the viral video and highlight the precarious conditions faced by many migrant workers who find themselves trapped in foreign countries without proper documentation or support systems.
