Sudden Weather Deterioration Disrupts Flight Operations
According to airport sources, weather conditions in Patna deteriorated suddenly on Friday afternoon, leading to significant disruptions in flight operations in the city. The IndiGo flight, designated 6E 6917, was scheduled to land in Patna at 3:50 PM but was unable to receive clearance from air traffic control due to the worsening weather. The aircraft continued circling in the air for an extended period before being diverted to Lucknow.
Safe Landing and Passenger Details
The aircraft eventually landed safely at Lucknow airport at approximately 5:15 PM. Officials confirmed that there were 180 passengers and six crew members on board at the time of the diversion. All individuals on the flight were reported safe and unharmed.
Following the improvement of weather conditions in Patna, the flight departed for its original destination later in the evening. The IndiGo airline coordinated with airport authorities to ensure minimal inconvenience to the passengers.
