Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh has strongly defended the development of the Noida International Airport, asserting that the project finally gained momentum after 2017 despite being proposed more than two decades ago. In a detailed statement, Singh addressed concerns over land acquisition, acknowledging that farmers had genuine worries regarding compensation and displacement. However, he emphasized that continuous engagement with the government helped improve compensation packages over time, ensuring a fairer deal for affected families.
Massive Investment Inflow
Singh claimed that more than ₹29,000 crore has been invested in the region since 2017, transforming Jewar into a thriving economic zone. He noted that lessons learned from the first phase of rehabilitation are being incorporated into future expansion plans to minimize disruption and maximize benefits for local communities. The MLA highlighted that the airport project is not just about aviation but serves as a catalyst for broader industrial growth.
Key Sectors Attracting Investment
According to Singh, upcoming investments span multiple sectors including aviation, logistics, semiconductors, apparel manufacturing, healthcare, and tourism. He argued that Jewar is poised to emerge as a major economic and employment hub for Uttar Pradesh and the entire National Capital Region (NCR). The combination of infrastructure development and policy support is expected to create thousands of jobs, boosting local livelihoods and attracting further business interest.
Addressing Farmer Concerns
Singh reiterated that the government has taken farmer feedback seriously, leading to enhanced compensation and rehabilitation measures. He stressed that the project's success depends on inclusive growth, where all stakeholders benefit from the region's transformation. The MLA expressed optimism that Jewar's development would set a benchmark for other infrastructure projects in the state.
