About the Yatra
The Ministry of External Affairs organizes the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra annually from June to August/September via two routes: Lipulekh Pass (Uttarakhand) and Nathu La Pass (Sikkim). The yatra holds immense religious and cultural significance, particularly for Hindus, who revere it as the abode of Lord Shiva, as well as for Jains and Buddhists.
Hundreds of people undertake this pilgrimage each year. It is open to eligible Indian citizens holding valid Indian passports for religious purposes.
