Residents of Kanpur experienced further respite from the scorching heat as the mercury dipped for the second consecutive day, thanks to rainfall that occurred during the nights of May 28 and 29. The maximum temperature recorded at the CSA Weather Observatory on Saturday was 34.9 degrees Celsius, which was 0.5 degrees lower than Friday's reading.
Although bright sunshine prevailed during the day, southeasterly winds blowing at speeds between 8.6 kmph and 12.1 kmph helped keep weather conditions comfortable and prevented any sharp rise in heat discomfort.
