Mysuru city and parts of the district, including Hunasuru, Periyapatna, and Nanjangud taluks, witnessed intense rains with thunder and lightning on Saturday. The downpour, which began on Friday, showed no signs of abating, leading to waterlogging in low-lying areas and traffic snarls on major roads.

In Chikkamagaluru district, heavy rain accompanied by strong winds uprooted an electrical pole, disrupting power supply to several households. Local authorities have been pressed into service to restore electricity and clear debris from roads. The Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority has issued advisories for residents in vulnerable areas to remain cautious.
