Moderate Rainfall in Trichy, Central TN Districts

TRICHY: Moderate rainfall was recorded across Tiruchirappalli (Trichy) and other central districts over a 24-hour period from Friday morning to Saturday morning. Tiruchirappalli district recorded the highest average rainfall of 30.7 mm (3 cm) during this period. The Golden Rock and Tiruchirappalli Junction rain gauge stations, both located within the city area, recorded over 63 mm (6.3 cm) and 61 mm (6.1 cm) respectively.

Thanjavur district, the heartland of Tamil Nadu’s delta region, received an average of 26.4 mm (2.6 cm). Kumbakonam recorded the highest rainfall in the district at 112 mm (11.2 cm), followed by Papanasam with 67 mm (6.7 cm). Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam districts also experienced light showers during the same period. Moderate rainfall was similarly observed in parts of Pudukkottai district.
