The first flight carrying Haj pilgrims from Nagpur is scheduled to depart at 3:35 am on April 24. Authorities have made comprehensive arrangements to ensure a hassle-free journey to the holy city of Mecca.
Review Meeting and Preparations
Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari held a review meeting and directed officials to take all necessary precautions. She assessed the arrangements and emphasized the need for coordination among all agencies involved.
Number of Pilgrims and Special Flights
Approximately 1,700 pilgrims from Nagpur and surrounding areas will undertake the journey this year. Additionally, nearly 19,335 pilgrims from states such as Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh will also depart via Nagpur. Special daily flights have been arranged through the Maharashtra State Haj Committee to accommodate the increased number of travelers.
Introduction of Smart Watches
A key feature this year is the introduction of smart watches for pilgrims. These devices enable real-time tracking, medical alerts, and communication with a central control room. Authorities stated that this technology will help prevent inconvenience and ensure the safety of pilgrims. Pilgrims have been advised to carry essential medicines along with their smart watches.
Logistics and Coordination
Additional Divisional Commissioner Tejusingh Pawar confirmed that arrangements for manpower and transport, including coordination with the railways, are in place. Khadija Naikwade is overseeing logistics and facilities to ensure smooth operations. Officials are working round the clock to address any potential issues and provide a seamless experience for all pilgrims.
With these measures, the administration aims to make the Haj pilgrimage a comfortable and spiritually fulfilling journey for everyone involved.
